Historical information

An advertisement in an Adelaide newspaper on 8 December 1950 called for tenders for purchase of the popular tourist Motor Vessel "Merle". 'The "Merle" was designed and built by the late Captain Harry G. Griffin as an all weather passenger vessel fitted with all conveniences and is in perfect condition. The "Merle", which has been running continuously six-day cruises from Murray Bridge for the past 9 and a half years, offers a wonderful opportunity for a sound business.'
