Summary

Interior view of the Mortlock building from the ground floor near the southern end of the chamber looking toward Malby's terrestrial globe, 1859, and the Bald Eagle, on long term loan from the South Australian Museum. The eagle commemorates that between 1881 and 1895 the basement of the building was used for storage and workshops for the museum's taxidermists.
