Historical information

Volta Hamblen was born in December of 1895. He was a good mate of William (Bill) Taylor Edis. It was originally believed that Volta (Wal) and Bill together joined the 10th Battalion and landed at Gallipoli and that Wal Hamblen was gassed and repatriated home but there is no exidence to support this. He married Maisie Treloar in 1917 but died in 1919 from influenza. Bill Edis married Wal's widow in 1920.
