Historical information

George Ernest Randal Alderson Snr. was born in 1874 in Norfolk, England. He married Alice Edith May Brooks in Adelaide in 1899. He enlisted with the A.I.F. aged 43 years on 5 October 1917, served with the 48th Battalion, and was injured in France. He returned to Australia and was discharged on 10 September 1919. He died on 24 December 1922 at the Keswick Hospital from war injuries. His son, George Ernest Randal Alderson Jnr. also served in the First World War.
