Summary

[General description] This aqueduct, supported by stone pylons, runs through the picturesque Gorge with its rocky creekbed and high rocky hillside. It was built in the early 1870s to transfer water from the Torrens Weir to the Hope Valley Reservoir. [On back of photograph] 'Aqueduct in Torrens Gorge / About 1875 / This photograph was taken by H.Davis for the Philadelphia Exhibition of 1876'.
