Summary

Half-plate glass negative of three men and five women sitting on chairs in a garden in front of a house, possibly in the Adelaide Hills. The women are wearing high-waisted skirts with elaborately detailed long-sleeved blouses with high necks, and have their hair styled in buns. The woman in the centre is wearing a straw hat. The men are wearing suits with vests, jackets and ties and are wearing straw hats. Two of the men are smoking pipes. Some are looking away from the camera. A researcher has suggested that the chair on the left was manufactured in Ontario, Canada, after 1899. The types of chairs include a bentwood chair and folding chairs.
