A carriage pulled by a heavy horse waiting at the side of the stone house featured in B 73338/2-3. A group of people wait in the carriage as the driver jumps in. The house was built by C.H. Beaumont around 1900 by R. Bishop, a local Clare builder. It was sold to Ernst Fromen in 1907. He renamed it 'Kalmar' after his home village in Sweden. In 1911 the property was sold to Hubert Bowman, youngest son of Edmund. Frank Nadya bought the house and remained until 1945 when he sold it to H.E. Cross. In 1949 the Mitchells moved to the property from Kalangadoo. Their son Andrew was born that year. He established Mitchell Winery in the old apple shed.
