Historical information

Ernest Ferdinand Huselius was born on the 29th July 1893 at Renmark, in the Hundred of Tiparra, South Australia. The Australian Imperial Force Nominal Roll records that he enlisted at the age of 21, joining the 10th Infantry Battalion (service No. 1029) in October 1914, and embarking on the 'HMAT Ascanius A11' on the 20th October 1914. Family records suggest that Ernest was in the 50th Battalion, B Company, and served in Gallipoli and on the Western Front. Ernest was injured in France, although it is not known during which battle. He was married to Winifred Harriet Coles on the 3rd January 1920. Ernest passed away in 1968.
