Historical information

Service number 2111 Private Ernest George Eckersley was born at Port Pirie, South Australia, on 3 December 1894. He enlisted at Keswick, South Australia, on 1 March 1915 and served as a member of the 6th Reinforcements, 16th Infantry Battalion, before transferring to the 48th Battalion on 26 April 1916. He returned to Australia and was discharged medically unfit in 1917. He died in July 1950.
