Historical information

From 1924-1927 Clive Stoward was a full-time student at the S.A. School of Arts and Craft specialising in mediums of oils and water colours. He was a Fellow of the Royal South Australian Society of Arts. He worked as an art teacher in a high school before resigning in 1954 to paint full time. 'His ...pictures represent the work of a highly sensitive Australian artist who loved the landscape of his country, be it hills, flats or beach and gave it to us with no pretensions'.
