Historical information

The 150 year old heritage-listed building was first used as a railway goods shed in the late 1800s, with the train line running through it. The building was also used to house the horse trams that ran along the causeway to Granite Island. The SA Whale Centre gave the historical old railway goods shed a new life in 1994.
