Historical information

Annie Burns Scott was the granddaughter of James Glencairne Burns, fourth son of the Scottish poet Robert Burns; she was born in Victoria in 1851; married James Scott, who owned vineyards in Adelaide; the couple had no children; she lived at Cavendish Street, Semaphore and later at Anthony Street, Largs Bay; she represented the Burns family at the unveiling of the Burns statue in Adelaide in 1934; she died in 1935 in a private hospital at the age of 82, after having fallen and broken her leg some weeks earlier
