Historical information

This is one of a set of images on South Australia created by Scottish firm George Washington Wilson & Co. (GWW) for sale in Britain. GWW sent photographer Fred Hardie to Australia to ensure the images were of a high standard Hardie often copied local photographers such as Sweet and took photos in positions Sweet had selected. Each set of slides produced on the Australian colonies (38 for South Australia) were accompanied by a text.
