Historical information

A newspaper report relating to this event reads: TROUT FOR ANGLERS. The vice-president of the Fish Protection and Angling Association (Mr J.C. Berndt), together with other members of the association and representatives of the Fisheries Department, will be at the railway-station this morning to take possession of a consignment of brown trout from Ballarat, which will be released in the Torrens River at the Gorge. During the past two weeks several consignments of trout have reached South Australia. The fish were obtained by the Fisheries Department, and a number have been released in Millbrook reservoir. The last consignment for the season will arrive on Friday, and will be handed over to the Gawler Angling Association.
