Historical information

A researcher has provided the following information: "Doreen Mavis Sparnon was a commercial florist who supplied and arranged the flowers for Charles Birks, and later for David Jones, Adelaide. She successfully ran her own business and was the predominant family income and 'home operator'. Quite an achievement for the inter-war and post WW2 years. The flowers that were not used for Birks were sold on the flower carts that used to be on Rundle Street (now Rundle Mall). These were owned and run by her husband."
