General notes

One image from a nineteenth century album of photographs formerly in the possession of the Clarke family. The provenance of these photographs is unknown. Surnames mentioned in the album include Stock, Dean, Holden and Stewart. Other photographs from the album may be viewed by doing a number search on B 70903.

Historical information

Information from a researcher: James Mills worked as a photographer in Walsall, and with Frederick Brown of Walsall. His daughter Agnes Mills married Charles E. Sheldon. His sister was Florence who married into the Holden family who moved to Australia where they lived until E. T. Holden's death when she returned to England with her daughter Dora Holden.
