Summary

[General description] The massive gateposts and wrought iron gates of the Botanic Park with leafy tree branches forming a canopy overhead. In the original 'Advertiser' article the caption to this photograph went:''Bottlenecks' was how a correspondent in 'The Advertiser' described the gates of the Botanic Park. In this photograph the Frome Road entrance is shown with the improvements which are planned for the lower end of Frome road. It has been suggested that the gates should be removed, as well as the galvanised iron fence' [On back of photograph] 'Entrance gates to Botanic Park. Frome Road / April 1936 / Reproduced in the 'Advertiser' for May 1, 1936'.
