Historical information

The Royal Australian Navy Bridging Train (RANBT) was formed in Melbourne from Royal Australian Navy Reservists led by Lieutenant Commander Leighton Seymour Bracegirdle on 28 February 1915 and served at Gallipoli and in the Sinai from 1915-1917. Twenty six Reservists who enlisted from South Australia in 1915 were in the RANBT.
