Summary

Old camp (industrial area) drive-in looking towards Olary Creek. 16mm films were projected at this open air picture theatre, with Lionel Hill, Les Lees, Jerry Manuel and Norm 'the Pommie' Pointer. O'Reilly's sometimes sold fresh milk at the drive-in from their 13 cow dairy herd. Note the screen, seating forms (with fire buckets in winter) and the loudspeaker platform on the side of the screen.

General notes

One of eight photographs of the Radium Hill drive-in. The film amenities were initially provided by the Radium Hill Mining Project and commenced screening in June 1951. At the end of 1953 the screening of films was taken over by the newly established Radium Hill Social Club.
