Historical information

Prior to taking up the hotel in Farina, John Archibald Patterson and his family lived on Tinga Tingana Station. 'John's father, Archibald Patterson, died there in 1917. The men on the station, including my father, Archibald Burnett, poured a concrete headstone, then with pocket knives carved letters and numbers out of lead and placed them in the concrete. Then in blacksmith's shop forged a fence to enclose the grave. The grave was still in good condition when visited in 1996. (Information supplied by Julia Schlager).
