Summary

The old Sunning Hill bridge in the Millbrook Reservoir. This bridge, opened in 1863 as the 'Chain of Ponds Bridge' soon became known as the Sunning Hill Bridge, after a nearby vineyard of the same name. After the opening of the Millbrook Reservoir in 1918, rising waters caused the Sunning Hill Bridge to disappear from view. It periodically re-emerges in times of drought. The creek over which the bridge stood was close to the Morning Star Hotel.
