Summary

Bessie Sigston used her box Brownie to catch her father-in-law, William Charles Sigston, leading the horse while her two sons, Bill and David, get a ride in the trap. William Sigston was born in December 1872 at Underdale, and in 1898 he married Francis Evelyn Townsend at McLaren Vale. They had two daughters, Lillian and Olive, and three sons, Louis, Clifford and Alan. William owned a vineyard at McLaren Flat and the horse was used to pull the plough in the early 1950s.
