Summary

View of D.W. Hughes' general store on Main Road at Middleton; the sign indicates that it was a 'baker, grocer & draper' store, there is also a petrol bowser out the front. The paddock beside the store is now the Middleton Caravan Park.

General notes

The store was owned by O.H. and H.E Hughes for 30 years before being sold in 1957 to Cecil H. and Violet Frances Gregory (the donor's uncle and aunt). In February 1959 they sold the store to Campbell Reid from Coomandook.
