Summary

Bonython Hall, North Terrace east, north side March 25, 1937. This photograph shows the front of the hall, for a view of the western side see B 7034. The hall was erected on a vacant site and completed in 1936. The right side of the hall is 8.5 yards west of east side of Pulteney Street. The front of the hall is 22.5 yards north of North Terrace boundary fence. Frontage of hall is 22.5 yards. Depth of hall is 56 yards. Folklore suggests the Bonython family requested the hall to be built at the end of Pulteney Street thus preventing a thoroughfare being built dividing the campus. Folklore also suggests that the sloping floor of the hall was by request of the Bonython family to prevent it being used as a dance hall.
