General notes

Photograph was collected by Henry Stanley (Stan) Burgan, who was initially employed as a labourer/rigger by the construction company building the power station, and then as the driver of the crane that was used inside the building to lift heavy machinery. This included the on-site installation of the 'Metropolitan Vickers' generators. The crane had both a 25 ton hook and a 50 ton hook, although the heaviest load lifted by Mr Burgan was a rotor weighing 62 tons.
