Summary

Original pencil and watercolour sketch of the Splendid Fairy Wren (Malurus callainus) drawn by Henry Constantine Richter for John Gould, the British ornithologist. The drawing was published in Gould's 1869 'Supplement to the birds of Australia'. Sometimes known as the Blue Wren, Gould names the bird as the Turquoisine Superb Warbler.
