Summary

Kermode Street, south side, 1935. The oldest hotel in South Australia, from 30th August, 1838, of which part of the building is original. This hotel is still in business in 2010. The proprietor of the Queen's Head Hotel in 1935 was Mrs Rose Adelaide Cramond. By the time the hotel was built the simple style of the colonial inns had given way to a more sophisticated design which incorporated balustraded parapets on the front and side walls of the hotel.
