Summary

[General description] An archway joins two sections of the Old Destitute Asylum, both being built from stone with red brick quoins and slate roofs. The tower of the Mortlock Library is framed in the space between the two buildings. [On back of photograph] 'Portion of the Old Destitute Asylum / Photographed in 1932 / For notes and plan showing the site see A419 / In the foreground on the left is the verandah to room 3 / Above it is the back of room 1 and on the right is the back of room 4 / In the distance can be seen the Public Library tower'.
