Summary

North Terrace West 9 February 1934. Both buildings are the premises of F. Wood Son & Co. On the left is the lane on the west side of the South Australian Hotel. Frontage of the two buildings shown: (from left to right) 19 yards and 151/2 yards. Mrs Gilbert Wood laid the foundation stone for the start of the new premises on North Terrace of G Wood and Son and Company.The business was founded in 1857. The building is built of Glen Osmond and Tapleys Hill stone, metropolitan bricks and Portland cement. It is designed and built by English and Soward along an Italian design with half Doric columns.
