Summary

SHIP COLLECTION: The windjammer 'Admiral Karpfanger' moored at Port Germein jetty in South Australia. [The 'Admiral Karpfanger' left Port Germein in February 1938 bound for Hamburg but was lost at sea in the vicinity of Cape Horn with total loss of life.] According to a researcher, the Admiral Karpfanger, ex L' Aviner loaded at Port Germein in January to February 1938 and disappeared on her homeward journey. It was believed to have foundered in Cape Horn region where part of a life boat with the ship's name was found.
