Summary

John Harvey Finlayson, editor and partowner of 'The Register' for almost fifty years. He was born at 'Helenholme' at Mitcham of Scottish parents. He attended Mr Muggs' School with school mate Sir Thomas Playford. He carried off most prizes and finished schooling with a very satisfactory record. Later at the Adelaide Education Institute Mr Young had a great influence over him. Before he was 33 years old he had taken over as editor of 'The Register'.
