Summary

King William Street, east side, May 12th 1933, right side of Covent Garden is 41 yards north of Grenfell Street and frontage is 12.5 yards. For alterations to Sands and McDougalls effected in 1933 see B 6613. Verandah added to Covent Garden in 1938. Covent Garden was burnt out in 1948. For a view of building constructed out of the remains see B 13013. A verandah was subsequently erected. See 'The Advertiser' October 28, 1948. p1. The Ellis Covent Garden Building advertising 'The House of Food Treasures' was an attractive three storey building with shutters and flowers in window boxes decorating the windows. The first floor had small ornamental balconies opening out from full length doors. A chemist shop was also situated in the building.
