Opalotype portrait of Mary Wilson, nee Smythe, an early settler in Beachport, South Australia who went to Western Australia in 1895 after losing her husband, Oliver Samuel Wilson, a Norwegian ship's carpenter, in a railway accident; she registered as a midwife November 8, 1911 and was the first maternity nurse in Freemantle.
