Summary

[General description] Shops on John Street, Noth Adelaide. On the left is Yendall's shop. Large signs in front of the shop advertise 'Ham and beef, Cake and Fruit, Woodroofe's Original Kola Beer'. A news bulletin propped against the shopfront reads 'Southern Cross to the rescue'. (This refers to an incident where Charles Kingsford-Smith took the Southern Cross up to Timor to pick up a consignment of mail stranded there by a damaged Imperial Airways aircraft that was carrying it to Australia.) A sign advertises Seppelts Famous Port next to the small building in the middle, the premises of a bootmaker named JH Beyer.
