Summary

[General description] This new section of the Amscol factory has been added on to the facade of the earlier stone building. The business, founded in 1922, is growing. Its dairy products, particularly ice cream, were very popular: Advertising slogan: "It's a food, not a fad" [On back of photograph] 'Acre 443 / Carrington Street, north side / 23rd April 1931 / Premises to the left of the shop on the corner were erected in 1930 (See B 5230) / For view of this site taken in 1922 see B 12530 / On the right is Eden Street / Amscol's frontage: 20 yards'.
