A researcher has provided the following information: This engine type and carriage were used for the daily high school train between Tailem Bend and Murray Bridge leaving Tailem at around 7.30am and then making the return journey, departing Murray Bridge at around 4pm. The archway in the middle separated the boys and girls, and the guard took refuge in his own van. The afternoon train, after departing Murray Bridge, would wait at a siding at the top of the climb up from the river, and let the Tailem Adelaide express pass through.
