[General description] Light industry is crowding out residential cottages in this view of Pirie Street. The premises of J.H. Southcott, motor engineers and Pitt, fibrous plasterers are prominent. A smart car is parked at the kerb. [On back of photograph] 'Acre 214 / Pirie Street, south side / February 10th 1929 / Extreme right is 8 yards east of Ackland Street / Extreme left is 66 yards east of Ackland Street'.
