Summary

[General description] St. Michael's Anglican Church nestles in lush gardens behind a clipped hedge. Its original architect was a Mr. Weir and its foundation stone was laid in 1848. Later, as the congregation grew, the southern nave was built in 1863, the architect being Edmund Wright. The orginal shingle roof was replaced with iron at this time. [On back of photograph] 'Anglican Church at Mitcham / 1909-10'.
