Summary

Curratum Station homestead - later demolished. John Livingston immigrated to Australia in 1843. Livingston formed a close friendship with Duncan McCallum, with whom he acquired Curratum, 40 square miles of pastoral land 20 miles west of Mount Gambier . This photograph was taken in 1859 shows a single storey farm house with a partial verandah situated on the slight rise overlooking the cattle and farmland. Three ladies can be seen in the garden and their carriage is awaiting them outside the picket fence.
