Summary

Gilles Street, south west corner of Hanson Street, July 1922. The extreme left is 64 yards south of Gilles Street. Far side of the cottage on the north side of the shed bearing the words "Thats right" on the roof is 47 yards south of Gilles Street. On the corner is John Victor William Sommer - Licensed Second Hand Dealer. Signs along the frontage include: Bon Ton Company Grocery Store, Wickerworks Manufacturing, Shell Motor Oil, Dancing Cots Motorside. A delivery van is parked outside the grocery store, its number plate reads 187. A wicker pram stands in the shop doorway. A sign bearing the Shell Motor Oil logo is displayed on the front of the shop, so it may have been a motor business before. See B 1796 for near identical image, without the motor vehicle at left. For view of buildings on left hand side between end of verandah and building bearing the word 'signs' taken c.1952, and after certain alterations, see B 12515.
