Summary

North Adelaide Grammar School (1854-1882) in Jeffcott Street, run by John Whinham. Whinham College was opened in 1882 by John's son Robert on the nearby corner of Jeffcott & Ward Streets. (information supplied by a researcher) John Whinham can be seen wearing a white coat and the students surround him. Some adventurous students can be seen sitting on the wooden frame in the school yard. The attractive stone building has wooden shutters and a slate roof and is contained within a stone and brick wall.
