Historical information

Herbert E. Bellamy, Government hydraulic engineer, was born on 9 May 1877 at Biggleswade in Bedfordshire and received his training as a civil engineer in Lancashire. He studied water supplies and sewage disposal works in the USA and Germany, and worked in England, Queensland, Colombo in Ceylon, Tasmania, South Australia and Victoria. He died in Hawthorn, Victoria on 7 September 1947. [from information provided by granddaughter].
