Historical information

A. Fogarty is Ambrose Joseph Fogarty, born 17 June 1896 Oodnadatta to Thomas Joseph Fogarty & Jessie Maria (nee Grimes). Ambrose educated at Christian Brother's College, Wakefield Street. He became a qualified accountant and worked in the family business named "Wallis Fogarty & Co" in Oodnadatta. Fogarty later became a hotelier in Metropolitan and Rural South Australia. He married in 1922 to Mary E. Black. Fogarty died 28th October 1930 at Calvary Hospital, North Adelaide, leaving a widow and four children. He is buried in the West Terrace Cemetery, South Australia.
