Summary

[General description] This memorial, situated on North Terrace and commissioned by the Angas family, was erected to the memory of both George Fife and John Howard Angas. It is an imposing edifice of marble and bronze which includes bas reliefs of incidents in the men's lives, a Norse sailing ship and a draped and winged bronze figure standing on its steps. Sculptor is Mr. William R. Cotton, A.R.A. [On back of photograph] 'Angas Memorial / North Terrace / January 1929 / Situated on the north side of North terrace, 21.5 yards west of Stephens Place / reproduced in 'Advertiser' January 9, 1929'.
