Summary

[General description] The gate of the picket front fence stands open showing a man and woman standing at the entrance of this twin gabled house with a group of girls. This photograph was possibly taken during the 69th annual meeting of the Orphan Home in August 1928. The Orphan Home was first located in Carrington St, city, then at Mitcham from 1908. The building was named Farr House after founder Julia Farr. [On back of photograph] 'Reproduced in 'Observer', August 1928 / Orphan Home at Mitcham / 1928'.
