Summary

[General description] A close up photograph of a bronze plate which is displayed on a stone cairn (see B 9048) at Beltana Station where Giles' expedition to Perth and back commenced in 1875. Tietkins and Young did not make the return journey across country from Perth but sailed back to Adelaide. See B 1035 for a group photograph of the expedition members and further information. [On back of photograph] 'Memorial plate erected at Beltana Station to commemorate the departure of Giles' exploring expedition. 1875'.
