Summary

[General description] There has been a hotel on this site since 1856, under several different names. The publican at the time this view was taken is C.A. Darwent. The hotel, a two storey stone building with wide verandahs and decorative iron lace on its balcony is soon to be remodelled and re-named the Hotel Grenfell. The neighbour is Burmeister's Big House printing firm.
