Summary

[General description] The premises of R.B Day & Sons, Upholsterers (Established 1873) are in process of being demolished. Piles of timber, windows, bricks etc. are being stacked for salvage. Workmen pose for the photographer. [On back of photograph] 'Acre 403 / Field Street, east side (off Gouger Street) / June 6th 1928 / Between Day's and the two storied house was a cottage which was demolished just before the photograph was taken. / Near side of cottages in process of demolition is 54 yards south of Gouger Street / Near side of two storey house is 69.5 yards south of Gouger St' (Another hand) 'For view of factory erected on this site later in the year see B 5121.'
