Summary

A photograph of an etching of Moorooroo Station owned by William Jacob who, at the age of 21, joined Colonel William Light's expedition to survey Adelaide. William bought land on the junction of the North and South Para rivers in 1839. By this time he was joined by his brother John and sister Ann. He continued surveying, leaving John looking for other pursuits and Ann in charge of the homestead. The building on the left dates from around 1842 when William married Mary Bagot. The original etching remains in the possession of the family.
