Summary

[General description] The Brookman building was designed by the notable architect, Superintendent of Public Works, C E Owen Smyth and staff architect, Mr Krichauff. This imposing Federation-Gothic structure was built from local bluestone and bricks in 1903 as a preparatory school for students entering the School of Mines. [On back of photograph] 'School of Mines / North Terrace / 1927 / Near side is 48 yards west of Tavistock Street / Reproduced in the "Chronicle", Dec. 10, 1927'.
